Happy reunion!

Ophelia went out crafting all day yesterday, amd whnm she came back I was sooo happy to see her, she has made some lovely things but really, that is not important, what is important is that she is back, yes! She filled up the water with nice fresh cool water and the bowl is brimful of food,  and we are reunited once again..... It was a long day.... But now all is well again!

It's weekend!

After what seems a long week it is finally arrived, the weekend! I am looking forward to lazing about, keeping my eye on Sylvester and keeping Ray away from my lookout position in the conservatory..... A quick scratch of my nails into Ophelia's office carpet and I am ready for the weekend!

A friendly visit??

Now that the weather is better Sylvester our neighbour's cat is outside a lot more. He generally sits on the fence and sometimes he walks in our courtyard but he does not try to get in any more. Well at least not this week.... Last week he tried to get in via the office window, that scared Ophelia I can tell you!!! Today, he came and sat on the windowsill in the kitchen. Layla did not like that.... There was a moment or two of tension, believe you me, amd then he left, and peace returned once more! Nap time now!

A new layout for the blog

No no no, you have not come to the wrong place, Ophelia changed the layout of the blog .... Fancy no?? I like it very much. She has also added some links to cat supplies... guess she got some from Amazon?? You know the box that arrived not so long ago??? Well that came from there, very handy too! Still my favourite place!

Ah yes, she's now also got a blog on cards, so if you are interested .... go and have a look at this address: http://opheliasbespokecards.blogspot.co.uk/

Do not bite the hand that feeds you....

I generally get bored rather quickly, and sometimes it happens that when I ask for attention and I get it, I then change my mind and scratch or try to bite. Generally, I am not vicious.... I find it just a bit difficult to express myself any other way.... And you just have to know me.... And I try very hard not to scratch or bite Ophelia's and Hamlet's hands, as they are the ones feeding me, or Layla, for that matter, but when they take me to the vet, and try to put me in that cage... I forget all about that ...

It is in my nature....

More people around means more attention, and I am good at asking for attention, just go and sit on them in the morning and they will magically wake up, or I'll spread myself out in the middle of the hallway, so no one can just walk past me, and generally they will see me and give me a stroke or two, and although I did ask for it, I do get bored rather quickly and when I've had enough, I've really had enough!! And then I'll scratch .... Sorry, can't help it really, . . . it is in my nature....

Easter wishes

It has been rather hectic in our household lately, more people around, things moved about, lots of activity! Ophelia makes sure we are safe, and I guess it means more people to give attention to us too! So I wish you a happy day today and enjoy your Easter!

A ball of hair in the room

So I wonder who is going to mention the ball of hair in the room first! It is there, no denying it, and it came off our coats, I am not fighting that, and most of it is mine, yes I know, I shed a lot ot hair, but hey, it is in my nature, Layla hardly loses any hair... And now that it is getting warmer I will be glad some of it is gone..... Oh, well, I'll just grow some more.... Where is the bin?

Ginger, our first cat, now in heaven!

This was our cat Ginger, who was only with us for about 5 months and died at the age of 8 months of undiagnosed feline cardiomyopathy.... There was not much we could do once he was ill, not knowing what would be wrong we had lots of tests performed at the vet and his heart gave out quite quickly..... A postmortem showed the signs of a thickened heartwall and he would never have had a long life had we found it and given him medication, so he was better off going to heaven, really, .... Thinking about it now, he was always so sad looking and seemed tired all the time! I really did not take enough pictures of him, I gathered them all together in one album.... 375 or so.....
We got another one straight away, Ray, and one year later we got Layla! And needless to say, I take lots of pictures of them....

A place to lay down my head....

Where in the world better to lay down my head than in a nice box, or on a soft bed?? Layla sleeps on the bed at night and in the sofa by day, but I prefer my new bed box during the day and at night, although I also love love love the pillow on the big box in the bedroom, really cosy, all four of us there in the night! What I also like is the laundry basket, it is cosy and round and provides lots of support, only thing is, you must not be in there when there is dirty washing in there, it smeeeelllllssss!

Being seen, not heard....

I like being there, without anyone noticing, just being there, observing all that is going on, being perfectly still, ... Ok ok, sometimes I fall asleep and my snoring gives me away, but many times I overlook all proceedings without anyone knowing I am there, still as an ornament!

Today is judgement day....

The morning loomed in all its darkness upon us, today is judgement day: a visit to the vet, where we will be weighed, checked and cuddled too. The vet is really nice, but she is also going to prick us with a needle, and that is not, I repeat, not nice! But Ophelia says it will be over in a second, so hopefully we won't have to go on a diet and we'll be back home in no time! But when the cages came out I was not so positive, I really did not like it, I scratched and I bit, and the only way to catch me was with the oven gloves on! At the vets, I screamed when she tried to prick me with the needle, Layla was fine, but I was not a happy bunny.... euh, cat! Anyway, we are back home now and all is well again, phew, another year to go until the next visit!

Layla, warrior princess!

I protect my household when foreign bodies try to invade it! I am up first when the doorbell rings and sniff out the postman, and I am there first when Sylvester tries to come in through the window.... I also try to escape myself, but Ophelia is quicker .... In another life I would have made a great warrior princess! Ooh, one can drean, can't one?

Feeling the love......

Ophelia just reached 500 followers, or whatever you might call them, you know people who have her in their circles! And she's really happy, and so are we, because I guess more people will read about us! And she would really like that too, and she's saying how much she really likes Google+ and how much she's feeling the loooooove! So thanks everyone, for all the google+ love... We love you too!

My bed (part two)

Ok, so I've just spend all evening, all night and all day in my lovely new bed, and I really need to stretch now!!! Layla still hasn't dared to steal it from me and when I nipped to the litter tray earlier it was still here upon my return! So,I guess the bed is here to stay, jippie! I am a happy cat!

Thursday 3 April 2014

My new bed is lovely

My new bed arrived today, it is really lovely, it is just the right size to snuggle up in.... It has some padding as well, makes it nice and warm! It came from Amazon, specially for me..... It had some sort of things in, but those were not for me, the box in the other hand is for me..... Ophelia put it next to the radiator, oooh, lush! Ok, now.... a quick drink, a few bites and swiftly to the litter tray and then ..... back to my new bed before Layla discovers it!

Supervising the cooking....

Now I have to admit, when we lived in Belgium, we had a bigger house and a bigger kitchen, and Ophelia was always cooking and I of course, had to supervise! I found the perfect spot for this job where I could see everything that was going on and be out of her way......
We also had a hole in the door to be able to get to our litter tray, so we could get to it at all times, clever, ha?
